He currently serves as Head of the Blood Bank and Hematology Service of the Ángeles Tijuana Hospital, where he also chairs the Stem Cell and Hematopoietic Transplantation Subcommittee and participates as a member of the Organ Transplantation Committee.
His leadership has been key in the development of quality protocols, transfusion safety and advanced management of blood components, integrating modern technologies and traceability processes.
In addition, Dr. Severino Lugo works as Full Professor of Hematology at the UABC and the Center for University Studies Xochicalco (CEUX), where he promotes evidence-based medical education and encourages the ethical and scientific training of future doctors.
He actively participates as an advisor and lecturer in national and international medical congresses, as well as in scientific advisory committees for the pharmaceutical industry, including Roche Mexico.
With a solid academic background, Dr. Severino Lugo graduated from the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, and later studied the Specialty in Hematology at the Specialty Hospital of the La Raza National Medical Center (IMSS), in Mexico City.
He complemented his preparation with diplomas in Transfusional Medicine, Blood Bank, Hemostasis and Thrombosis, and a Master’s Degree in Teaching, which supports his work as a university professor.
