Tijuana is a great modern and colorful city. Tijuana is situated on the top left corner of Mexico, just off the United States border, south of San Diego. This position makes it a favorite place for day trippers who simply want to cross the border to enjoy Mexican color, have good food, and make a purchase before returning. But those who want to spend more time will find that Tijuana has something to offer outside the main tourist drag. Below we give some lists of favorite activities to enjoy in and around Tijuana.
1. Stroll along Avenida Revolución
The Revolution Avenue referred to as “La Revu” by the locals, is the main tourist attraction of Tijuana and is a short walk away from the US border crossing. In the event that you have decided to do stereotyped tourism, all you need to do is purchase a big sombrero and let your image be captured with a donkey that has zebra paintings on it. This is an ideal place for it.
However, following this, you should make use of the advantage to discover some of the shops, restaurants, and galleries that you will also find along this strip. These are not just t-shirts, postcards, and pharmacies selling cheap drugs. You will also find silver jewelry, quality handicrafts from across the country, and boutiques selling all kinds of luxury items.
2. Visit the traditional market
In addition to the modern shopping experience, you can also visit the traditional Mexican market. Some of them are in the vicinity of Tijuana, but Mercado Hidalgo is in the center of the town. You will find creatively stacked fruits, locally produced cheeses, and many products from southern and central Mexico. You can be served snacks at the food stand, enjoy traditional Mexican sweets, and bargain for a souvenir.

3. Explore the Centro Cultural Tijuana
The Tijuana Cultural Center brought to live in 1982, has become one of the most recognizable city symbols throughout the year. You find it in one of the most modern parts of the city – Zona Rio, just 5 minutes from the border and it provides its visitors with numerous interesting expositions displaying various types of art. The main feature of the complex is “The Ball,” the only IMAX cinema in Tijuana. They also offer children many activities, such as reading, lectures, and workshops. The Tijuana Cultural Center is the only institution of the National Council for Culture and Art found outside the capital city of Mexico.

4. Nightlife
Several American generations have crossed the border to cut loose for a night or two. Tijuana still conjures thoughts of margaritas, tequila and, yes, some of the seamier aspects of any border city.
Zona Centro, and specifically Avenida Revolución, remains popular places for visitors, whether it is a bar or a nightclub (the smaller are not entitled to a blanket) or a strip club. On the off chance that you are just out for some nightclubbing, you should try to stay away from Zona Norte, which is one of North America’s largest red-light zones.
A little further away from the city center, Plaza del Zapato, in the prime neighborhood of Zona RÃo, the home of dedicated nightclubs in warehouse-like buildings, while Calle Basil, on the east of the hill, offers modern cafes and bars.
5. Playas de Tijuana
Tijuana’s westernmost borough is a residential area that ends at sea. So you can go here if you want to try the Pacific on the Mexican soil without traveling to famous resorts like Ensenada and Rosarita.
As the name suggests, Playas de Tijuana has beaches; In fact, it is a long beach that extends south of the border fence about four miles to Puente la Joya. The sand is kept clean, the gradient is light, and the waves flow to the height of the waist.
